BW LOUNGE

HAUS DER GESCHICHTE BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG | STUTTGART (DE) | 2004

Walkable virtual cultural stage. Multi-layered projection meshes arranged ceiling-high in the room form an atmospheric, media-enhanced cultural stage. From the outside, it looks like a moving object of light, a walk-in sculpture with transparent hull that can be stridden through. Like a hologram, the film images generate three-dimensionality and acquire an almost haptic materiality. Floating in transparent bubble chairs, the visitors experience a 30-minute film collage about the impressive cultural creation of Baden-Württemberg. The background is made up of a projection of a 360° helicopter flight over the landscapes of Baden-Württemberg.

Photographs and statements of well-known culture creators from the areas of art, theatre, music, ballet and film in Baden-Württemberg appear like visions or sequences of dreams and then disappear again. Dreamers and acrobats, philosophers and poets, conversationalists and other artists provide insights into the living cultural panorama of Baden-Württemberg.
