KALEIDOSCOPE

Roemerkastell | Stuttgart (DE) | 2012

On initiative of PLOT, the magazine for spatial scenography, and on behalf of MBA, developer and manufacturer of modular walls and spatial structures, the cities of Copenhagen, London, Paris, Budapest and Istanbul were showcased for one night at the Römerkastell in Stuttgart. TAMSCHICK MEDIA+SPACE’s Istanbul display won the MBA Public Choice Award. The pavilion, inspired by Turkish architectural ornaments, displayed Istanbul in emotional audiovisual fragments inside a mirrored dome. The actual architectural dimensions were subverted by the fully mirrored space which enlarged the narrative room to infinity. Like a whisper, the moving lights and sounds forced their ways outwards and transformed the walk-in pavilion into a living sculpture.
