Floral compositions, colorful Islamic patterns and unique woven artworks. With large and fascinating carpets besides manuscripts, ceramics, metal works and other objects, the exhibits mark the beginning of the early modern period in Islamic art.
TMS realized the welcoming immersive installation in the entrance area. A mirrored projection gives the impression of a large pending sphere. Composed of interwoven patterns, it creates a dynamic metaphor showing the connections of the featured dynasties: The Safavids in Iran (1501–1736), the Ottomans in Turkey (1299–1923) and the Mughals in India (1526–1857).
The exhibition will be open to the public until January 27, 2018.
