An Exhibition About the Color Red in Film

We are excited to develop the upcoming exhibition "Red in Cinema" with the Deutsches Filmmuseum Frankfurt.

The design concept plays on the ephemeral and immaterial quality of film as a medium: the exhibition features large format projections while other exhibition content requires the direct involvement of the visitors before becoming visible. Each visitor is given a card at the entrance, enabling them to embark on a personal discovery over the course of the exhibition. The cards become mobile projection surfaces. When properly placed in the beam of mini projectors hanging from the ceiling, they reveal  about the meaning and effect of the color red in film. The focus of the exhibition is not only on the color of objects or characters, but also on the perception of the color. An immersive installation heightens the visitor's awareness by submerging them in a seemingly endless, glowing red room.
