Blue Gardens

Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH

Berlin (DE)

2001

A Möbius strip is a type of band whose ends are connected with a rotation of 180 degrees. The resulting surface has only one side and one edge. For Panasonic's product world at the International Consumer Electronics Fair (IFA) 2001 in Berlin, lead agency Atelier Brückner created a 300-metre long and four-metre high cinematic Möbius strip called "Blue Gardens".

About

With the help of 52 Panasonic projectors, we turned this seemingly infinite projection surface into a canvas for dream-like images from the depths of the sea, accompanied by mystical sounds. A pulsating flow of images along the strip transformed film into architecture and set it in motion. Visitors became strollers through the constantly changing underwater world and, in this way, Panasonic demonstrated its impressive competence and the performance of its products, which could be examined by visitors in break-out rooms behind the walk-in screen.
