German Pavilion: Energy Show

Ins Glück, BMWi

Astana, (KAZ)

2017

"Energy of the future", that was the theme of EXPO 2017 in the Kazakh capital Astana. For the German pavilion at the world exhibition, we designed and developed the "Energy Show" in cooperation with the lead agency insglück. In the German house, cutting-edge technology was presented for visitors to touch, try out and participate in. With 600,000 visitors, it was one of the most popular pavilions at the EXPO and received several awards.

About

The highlight was a round table in the centre of the pavilion where visitors could gather to start the "Energy Show". At the entrance, all visitors received a smartstick, which they could charge at various interactive stations on their way through the exhibition and then make energy visible at the end. The entire room became a three-dimensional 360-degree canvas on which the released energy unfolded its creative power. In this way, emotional storytelling succeeded in communicating the pavilion's maxim to an international audience through a visual language: "Your energy can change the world".
