The pavilion, inspired by Turkish architectural ornaments, displayed Istanbul in emotional audiovisual fragments inside a mirrored dome. The actual architectural dimensions were subverted by the fully mirrored space which enlarged the narrative room to infinity. Like a whisper, the moving lights and sounds penetrated outwards, transforming the space into a walk-in, living kaleidoscope and unfolding the breathtaking beauty, secrets and colourful vibrancy of Istanbul. With simple means and emotional audio-visual fragments, we transformed the unspectacular white wall modules into an ornamental and poetic homage to the city that never sleeps.
