The time-dynamic Saxony Model, a large-scale kinetic installation at the State Museum of Archaeology Chemnitz (smac), was designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER and developed by us together with MKT and Fokus 4. The landscape model connects the foyer with the three exhibition floors. In an hourly cycle, a show is played in which the model moves vertically over the entire height of the open atrium. The innovative production subtly choreographs the development of Saxony from a natural to a cultural landscape. The sound emotionally and atmospherically supports the journey through 300,000 years of history.

About
The Saxony Model also offers an interactive and participatory experience for museum visitors. Between shows, the sculpture rests in the foyer. On eight touchscreens arranged around the Saxony Model, chronologically prepared information on the topics of geology, nature, water, archaeology, population, industry, culture and mobility of Saxony can be called up. With this combination of kinetics, film, sound, narration, interaction and participation, a completely new type of innovative presentation was created.
